I became a stay at home mom when my son was 6 months old. We were in that odd age of aging out of most Baby and Me yoga classes in Bend as he started to crawl but also really needing kid inclusive yoga and movement more than ever. I figured there had to be other moms experiencing what I was feeling and The Slow Season was born from there. Since then I’ve become a certified personal trainer and am completing the Girls Gone Strong Pre/Postnatal Coaching program. My other experience/certifications include a 200 hour yoga teacher training, a Prenatal yoga training certification, postnatal yoga training certification, several years of teaching power flow, yin, chair yoga, vinyasa and more.

My classes are centered around community and creating a space where you feel free to drop in, be yourself and let your child be a child without judgement or expectations. I’m a former elementary teacher and absolutely love meeting kids where they are at and creating a space to meet their needs rather than asking them to adapt to our space. It takes a village and we’re happy you’re a part of ours.

About The Slow Season

About our offerings

A group of women and children in a sunlit room, with one woman sitting cross-legged on a rug, meditating with a smiling baby on her lap, children playing and adults engaging in activities around her, large glass sliding doors revealing a sunny outdoor scene.

My classes are centered around prenatal and postnatal yoga and postpartum fitness in Bend, Oregon. They’re rooted in the health at every size philosophy and a belief that mindful movement should accessible and available to everyone. You’ll never hear me talk about getting back to your “pre baby body” or “bouncing back”. I’m here to help you reconnect to your body and movement in a way that feels sustainable. The sense of community you get from our classes is equally as important as the movement.

I absolutely love Megan’s classes and groups! I’ve done baby and me yoga numerous times as well as the running group. As a stay at home mom, I love that I can take my little one with me while working out- my 2 favorite things, it’s all I could ever ask for! It’s been a great way to meet other moms as well, especially as a first time mom! My daughter also loves the interactions she gets from these groups! Megan is beyond approachable and knowledgeable, I’m so glad she’s able to lead these classes and hope she leads more in the future!

“Megan has such a warm and welcoming energy about her! Her Baby & Me Yoga class is an inclusive activity in which parents aren’t forced to choose between self-care or caring for their small child. She begins the class by assuring us it’s okay to pause our practice to tend to our children as we need to. I have an active 1.5 year old I often feel pressured to apologize to society for. That pressure doesn’t live in this space Megan has created. Our community is so lucky to have The Slow Season looking out for us new parents. We deserve this. Thank you Megan!”

The Slow Season provides a solution for parents of babies and toddlers in our community asking themselves: “how can I continue to be active, be in community, and bring my wiggly little along?” Seriously, finding this type of space (especially once your baby starts crawling around) is nearly unheard of, and yet the nourishment that it brings parents is, undoubtedly, essential and life-giving. We are absurdly lucky to have Slow Season in our community - it is such a gift. I’d love to continue to see it thrive and grow as we all continue to thrive and grow as families.
